The First Test match between India and Sri Lanka ended with Sri Lanka defeting India by an innings and 239 runs. Muttia Muralitharan along with debutant Ajanta Mendis collapsed the strong batting line up of India. The two spinners bowled out India twice in just below 120 overs.
The second test between India and Sri Lanka is scheduled to start from 31st July 2008 with the Srilankans leading the series with a lead of 1-0. Indians have to win the final test to level the series.
