Anil Kumble won the toss for the second time in the series and didn’t hesitate at all to decide batting first. Both the team has made one change in the team, which played in the first test. Parthiv Patel replaces Karthik while for Sri Lanka Dammika Prasad debuted in test cricket. Prasad replaces Kulasekara.
The Indians are in a bit uncomfortable position. Like all other matches in the series the Indian bating lineup collapsed again. India started well with a opening partnership of 51 runs between Sehwag and Gambhir. After Sehwag the Indian batting lineup collapsed and the second 50 partnerships came in the last wicket. Zaheer and Ishant contributed well at the end of the innings and score a partnership of 51 runs, which takes India to some sort of respected total.
At stumps of day one Sri Lankan were 14 for the loss of one wicket. The future of this test match depends a lot on the first half tomorrow.
